Apple have started selling the i phone 4 sim-free on it’s US online store. Unlocked handsets will cost $649 and $749 for the 16GB and 32GB models, respectively, and will allow users to insert any microsim they wish, although in the US only AT&T sims will work. The main advantage of the unlocked model will obviously be that users are able to insert local microsims when travelling abroad, thus avoiding pricey roaming costs from their US carrier, whilst also being able to get the advantages of Apples flagship device without being tied down to a lengthy contract.
